Well, it’s not really gold. It’s probably brass or some other kind of durable metal, but gold sounds better. At the annual Associated Collegiate Press conference last month, The Daily Tar Heel was awarded “Best of Show” in the newspaper category. The DTH won the same award last year. A former graphics editor Kurt Gentry won first place for the infographic category, and senior writer Jim Walsh won third place in the feature story category. The Daily Tar Heel Web site was a finalist for the online Pacemaker.

The 86th convention, which includes hundreds of college newspapers across the country, was held in Washington, D.C.
